CREATING A WAVE OF GRATITUDE

“Let’s connect with others and reconnect with ourselves.

Because there’s a little water girl in all of us.”

– CEO AND FOUNDER ANNA MURPHY

Our Story.

A unique gift.

In February of 2020, our family lost my father to congestive heart failure. This difficult journey was eased by the support of family and friends, hospital staff, and caregivers. There was one nurse in particular whose care and concern for my father truly stood out. From helping him get situated during multiple hospital stays, to comforting him in the middle of the night and inspiring him to keep on going for another day of his fabulous storytelling; our family cannot thank this nurse enough.

What card could possibly express this type of gratitude? What gift could possibly let this woman know how thankful we were for her service? Not just her service, her time, her care, and her love. It seemed that no gift could properly convey our gratitude.

Our Water Girl products and community were created to express the gratitude we have for one another, drawing from the love and connection we feel for the water. My father adored the water and taught his children to love and respect it—Water Girl honors his memory.

Water Girl symbolizes a commitment to giving thanks to those who make a positive difference in our lives. Voicing an appreciation that would otherwise go unacknowledged is a powerful thing. From our parents to our friends and families, to care providers, essential workers, colleagues, and mentors, we hope that you will give someone special in your life a Water Girl gift as a meaningful way of saying  “thank you.”

Our goal is to initiate over 5,000 acts of gratitude by 2022 and 500,000 acts of gratitude over ten years. We want to create a wave of gratitude across the country!

Ten percent of every Water Girl purchase is donated to local and global charities that protect the water and help the people that rely on the water for both recreation and business.

OUR GOAL

To make a positive difference—worldwide.

Anna Murphy - Water Girl

Anna Murphy (Water Girl Founder)

“The water just makes me smile.”

Anna Murphy was brought up near the local beaches of Southeastern Massachusetts and has always been drawn to the water’s edge. Her parents affectionately nicknamed her “the sandpiper” because she loved to run and skitter along the shore as a toddler. As a young girl, she swam at Humarock Beach, jumped off local bridges and spent family vacations in York Harbor, Maine. Anna lives in Scituate and she can often be found boating or paddleboarding in the harbor when she’s not working.
