Wake up, grab a coffee (and maybe an everything bagel with cream cheese), and head to the boat. The water is like glass and the air is still. Start the engine and putt down the winding river. Head slowly over to Whaleboat Island. Search the island treetops and skies in hope of catching a glimpse of a bald eagle. Along the way, I hear the rumble of the lobster boats starting their day. I begin my morning trolling for mackerel and enjoying the smell of the salt air. It’s quiet. The ocean feels like it’s all mine.
